Through his hard work and determination inside and outside of practice, swimmer Jacob Horner was rightfully nominated as Wolf of the Week.
Even when there is no practice, Horner continues to put in the effort on his own time to make improvement.
“Jacob has been someone to always work hard. When practice was canceled, he went on his own time to swim and make sure he got better. I’ve even seen him after practice running at common ground to stay ready for track. He is always working hard and trying his best and it’s evident for the underclassmen,” teammate Jenna Polking said.
Horner made great contributions inside and outside of practice. He works hard to shave off time so he can perform his very best at the meets.
Jacob’s industrious training has shown the team determination, and has brought leadership to his teammates. He is always setting a great example by showing kindness and encouragement.
“His work and consistency is a big part of his leadership and is shown to so many others to encourage and influence them to do the same,” Polking said.
Horner’s hard work has definitely paid off. Horner won several state medals at last weekend’s meet, both individually and as part of a relay team. Because Horner has chosen to compete in track and field in college instead, this was this final swim meet ever; nonetheless, he finished incredibly strong.
“His strength in swimming and running ability is truly a gift from God and it is so cool to see how far he’s come,” Polking said.
