After placing first place in the mile at College of Saint Mary and Fairbury Meet (with a time of 4:40), as well as getting first place in the 2 mile at the Fairbury Meet (with a time of 10:20) Conner Ross was nominated for Wolf of the Week.
Conner works very hard during practices and uses all his time and effort to improve his times.
“During his transition from XC to track his junior year he really started to put in the work and enjoy the sport, his times significantly improved and now he has a state medal in the 3200m and holds the school record in the 1600m and 3200m,” teammate Jakob Sullivan said.
Conner trains extremely hard, but that is titles are not the only thing he brings to the team. He is also a great example by showing his kindness and encouragement to all of his teammates.
“Conner has brought the connections, he gets along with most people pretty easily and makes a lot of friends in the downtime of meets. So he has a network with all the schools we compete with and always keep things interesting,” Sullivan said.
Ross’s work has definitely paid off. After bringing home medals, and holding records, it is evident as to why he was nominated for Wolf of the Week.
“He keeps our team connected as he is a large part of why our team is as close as we are today,” Sullivan said.
