While the new pups of the pack make the difficult transition to high school, freshman Connor Cox also had to deal with a unique challenge.
Cox is a part of the football team and plans on being a member of the school basketball and baseball teams. Optimistic and involved are two words that describe him.
“When something bad happens, there is something good that will come out of it” freshman Connor Cox said.
During his first week of football, Cox was hit and broke his collarbone and he is now out for the rest of the season. This is a curveball in his planned transition to high school.
“It is pretty upsetting. Everyone is out playing football and getting better and I am just on the sidelines” Cox said.
While Cox is unable to play, he still attends practice and has been spending more time with friends playing video games. Cox sees his injury as motivation to work harder for his upcoming basketball season.
“I’m going to work harder than I was before, keep busy and rehab.” Cox said.
Cox easily displays his good attitude despite being off the field. His coaches are still very complimentary of his enthusiasm.
“He has still been showing up to practices and encouraging his teammates,” freshmen football coach Colton Schneider said.
