The girls golf team took second at the state tournament in Scottsbluff. They played against 64 golfers from 20 competing Class B schools.
The team was comprised of senior Julia Karmazin, senior Emma Hartnett, senior Sharlan Skrupa, junior Chelsea Mahloch, and senior Shea Meredith.
“It was really successful, we were conference champs and district runner up,” assistant coach Michelle Seger said. “The girls put in work in the summer, and they put in a lot of time during the season.”.
The Wolves nearly lost the runner-up title to Scottsbluff, but they held up and obtained the trophy with Karmazin placing 2nd and Skrupa placing 7th.
“We knew if we played well, we had a chance to contend but really at the end of the day it was more important to walk away with hardware so second place was awesome,” Karmazin said, ”we were 3 shots away from third place so we clutched it out and got runner up which was super fun.”
