This 2023 season is senior Delaney Briganti’s first time as a starter on varsity. Because of her staunch dedication to the program, she is now a major piece of the team’s success.
After not having major playing time her first three years on the team, Briganti put in the work over the off season in order to start at the varsity level. Components of volleyball, especially a person’s vertical and swing, are perfected with hours of training.
“She has made drastic improvements, specifically within her vertical and swinging at the ball,” assistant volleyball coach Kaylee Prenosil said.
Briganti got the final kill that took the Wolves to the state semifinals in the game against Seward on Wednesday.
“Delaney is always very focused and is trying to get better depending on whatever drills we are doing,” senior Courtney Christo said. “Especially since she is one of our only two middles that we have.”
Being in the position that she is as a varsity playmaker and after an impressive performance in the quarterfinals, her contributions are undeniable.
“She really just puts her head down and just works hard every single day,” senior Ava Spies said. “The position she is in now is so well deserved.”
