Senior Ellie Lary competed with the varsity bowling team at Sun Valley Lanes on Thursday and placed fifth with a high score of 180.
Outside of the lanes, Lary makes sure her team stays in a positive mindset by encouraging them during their duals.
“She’s amazing, super supportive, and always positive,” senior Julia Karmazin said. “She’s very interactive with the rest of the team and is always giving high fives and she’s super sweet.”
So far this season, Lary has worked towards the improvement of her skills and techniques by changing which ball she uses, and which path she usually bowls.
“She’s made a lot of improvements by changing the ball she’s using,” Head bowling coach Fred Doscher said, “she went from a conventional ball to a figurative ball, and she went from bowling straight to bowling with a hook, she’s done really well with it.”
Between improving her skills and showing support to her team, Lary maintains a positive attitude and is known as a consistent bowler on the team.
“She’s usually pretty solid, pretty consistent,” Karmazin said, “she’s kind of one of our go-to girls if we need someone to step up.”
