Professional and nationally known brass group, Dallas Brass, came to Elkhorn North on January 17th, to teach and play with all the Elkhorn Schools’ bands. Band members were able to attend a clinic after school led by and gain knowledge from professionals as well as rehearse with the director of the Dallas Brass.
“He taught us a few things, [gave us] some practice tips, [and] how to stay motivated,” senior Pawel Kissel said. “We got to play with them, and there were bits where they were playing together.”
The group formed in 1983 and consists of six to seven members who vary in age. Two of the original members are still in the group today.
This memorable experience is one that the band program and members will have a hard time forgetting.
“It was cool to see decades of practice at work,” Kissel said. “Seeing a professional at work is really cool.”
