The girls’ wrestling team took the win in a dual against Skutt Catholic High School. The girls won by criteria 31- 30, by having the least amount of people forfeit.
The team is made up of all three Elkhorn Highschool which can make it hard for the team to be united. The girls work hard to come together as one team.
“We started off kind of mixed up, trying to find good weights, and Near the middle of the season, we figured out what is good for us.” freshmen varsity player Kiera Hecht said.
The girls prepare for upcoming meets by working hard on the mat during practice. They practice after school at Elkhorn High school every day.
“I prepare by pushing myself during practice and not only bettering myself but also working to better my partner to make us successful. senior varsity player Natalie Hecht said.
On Friday Natalie Hecht heads to Districts for the girls’ wrestling team. Hecht is the only girl wrestler who qualified for Districts from Elkhorn North.
“It feels good knowing that I was a big part of starting the girls’ program in Elkhorn and now I have a chance to prove that it was right for us to have a girl’s team,” N. Hecht said.
