Elkhorn North has many clubs that students can join. The problem is that many students lack the knowledge of what the clubs are. Clubs With Christo is the solution to this problem. I attend a meeting with one of the clubs around the school, so that I can educate the student body on what they are all about. This week I visited Quiz Bowl.
Quiz Bowl takes place every Friday after school at 3:30 in the H017 room. Melissa Peterson is the sponsor and the student leaders are Saral Sapkota and Brandon Wiltse.
Whether students are trying to get more involved or represent the school in competition, Quiz Bowl is a great club to be involved in.
“Quiz Bowl is like Jeopardy with a team,” history teacher Melissa Peterson said.
At the meeting, the club split off into two teams in order to prepare for two different competitions that they are competing in over the next week. Even with all the hard work they put into getting ready for the competition, all members managed to have a lot of fun. The Quiz Bowl season goes from September to June; Elkhorn North usually competes 2-3 times a month.
All students looking for a fun way to test their knowledge and compete alongside their fellow classmates should definitely look into joining Quiz Bowl.
