I recently watched Venom: The Last Dance, produced by Marvel Studios, and coming into it, I was so excited because the previous movies have been action-packed and hilarious. I am glad to say that my opinion on this sequel was not ruined because I thought this movie was amazing. It exceeded my expectations in both acting and cinematography.

This movie takes place in Nevada right around the time of Area 51 getting demolished by the government. Protagonist Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) is the host of “Venom”, a big black parasite that can only survive with a human host. Brock can transform into Venom’s outer appearance at will making him faster, stronger, more violent, and nearly invincible. In past movies, Venom saved Brock’s life after being stabbed through the chest, creating something called a Codex that the creator of all symbiotes, Knull (Andy Serkis), needs to escape an eternal prison. Brock and Venom try to fight off other aliens that are trying to retrieve the codex by any means possible.

I can not think of anyone who did a poor job in this movie. Tom Hardy, who plays Eddie Brock and Venom, finds the perfect balance of scared, defensive, and depressed. In the climax, Hardy’s delivery added a layer of vulnerability that elevated the entire film and complemented everyone else’s acting.

Venom: The Last Dance is full of incredible action and hilarious jokes that make it hard to see that this will be the last Venom movie. Movie was very fast-paced and I was not bored once while watching this movie. I was astonished by the cinematography, which was especially good because they need to have good cinematography with Venom. The story line always made sense, but at some points in the movie, the plot was very hard to track. The action kept escalating for all the characters, it was leaving me unsure when it would finally let up. Another thing I was not a fan of was how quickly some of the side characters appeared in the movie, only to disappear just as fast.

It was exciting to see how the sequel built upon the foundation of how Eddie Brock dealt with Venom and how they learned to cooperate with each other from the first film further exploring the bond between Eddie Brock and Venom. The continuity of the films deepened their relationship while expanding on the themes from Venom (2018).

I learned from this movie that people need to cherish the time that they have with the people that they love the most because they never know when that time will stop. I think others will learn the same thing as well, if not, they will learn the lesson of cooperation with people that you might not agree with.

The movie is rated PG-13 and is recommended for kids that like action and comedy. There is vulgar language and some of the ways that people die are very aggressive, but nothing too bad. I really liked watching this movie and it was very entertaining. This movie is very good. I would give this movie 4 stars out of 5.
