On May 14, members of the Elkhorn North staff took the time to recognize the graduating senior class in their academic and athletic accomplishments throughout their high school careers. Heads from every department spoke highly of the awarded students and reflected on how much they have grown and contributed to the school during the past four years.
Dan Radicia began the ceremony by giving praise to the class of 2025 not only for their hard work and dedication, but the culture that they have established. Their energy at sporting events and leadership in the classroom, sets precedents for underclassmen that continue to keep the standards high at Elkhorn North.
Many awards encompass a large portion of the student body with 71 seniors being recognized for achieving the President’s Award for Educational Excellence, and over 100 National Honors society members were acknowledged for their efforts towards the community.
Ella Ford and Jett Tinglehoff were selected as this year’s distinguished athletes, presented by the Marine Corps. Ford participated in cross country and track while at Elkhorn North. Tinglehoff was involved in football and track. Both athletes will be attending the University of South Dakota in the fall and continue to pursue track and field.
In terms of academics, Mason Miller has notably earned himself a perfect 36 on his ACT and will be recognized in Elkhorn North’s academic hall of fame. He additionally was recognized by the Omaha World Herald for being in the top 4% of all graduating seniors throughout Nebraska.
Representing Elkhorn North’s outstanding female and male students are Alayna Vaughn and Tyler Nietfeldt. Their constant commitment to their studies and their impact on those around them make Vaughn and Nietfeldt very deserving of this honor.
