Gabby Petito’s body was found September 19th, and only a month later, Brian Laundries’ body was found. 

Laundrie and Petito set off on a cross country trip in the beginning of June 2021. This trip soon ended in the death of Petito. Petitos death became a worldwide phenomenon. The main suspect just happened to be Petito’s fiance, Laundrie. 

The hunt for Laundrie continued on after Petito’s body was found. With Laundrie’s parents being the only ones connected to him, they denied knowing anything about him after he disappeared. Laundrie’s parents finally joined the search a month later and right away led authorities to his body. 

This just happened to be a coincidence as it is not confirmed if Laundrie’s parents were hiding that they knew where he was. Laundrie’s parents and authorities searched in a part of T Mabry Carlton Jr Memorial Reserve that was previously underwater (BBC.com). 

The remains found were immediately examined and dental records showed that it was Laudrie on October 21st (CNN.com). Along with skeletal remains, clothes were found that matched what Laudrie was wearing when he disappeared on September 13th. 

Authorities retrieved Laundrie’s phone, a key part of the investigation. With his phone, they will be able to track his usage before Petitio disappeared. This could give them answers into what exactly happened to her.
