“My mom makes me study for everything, because she wants me to get a good grade in AP World History.” Sophomore, Rylan Stephens, said. “I push my son study, because my expectations are high, and I want him to do well.” Social Studys Teacher, Heather P. said.

Packs within the pack

Many students see their parents each day at school, but is this appreciated by both parties?

“I can get the inside knowledge from my mom that other kids can’t,” freshmen Sawyer Maloney said. “My job is better with my kids at the school because I get to see them so often, and when I need something from home I can have Murphy bring it,” Administrative Assistant Hollie Maloney said. “I like that my mom is part of administration because I can see her whenever I want throughout the day,” senior Murphy Maloney said.

“My mom teaching science makes me like science and I am pretty good at it.” Sophomore, Lucah Sekle, said. “I don’t have to help my son much but he also likes science and does well in the class.” Science Teacher, Abby Sekle, said.

“I go to my mom’s room all of the time for class, someone to talk to, and I leave some of my stuff in there.” Senior, Natalie Hecht, said. “I like having my kids in the same school as me because we build relationships outside of home.” Social Studies Teacher, Ashley Anderson, said. “Knowing that my mom is in the school keeps me from doing things I shouldn’t do.” Freshmen, Kiera Hecht, said.

“My daughter is always good at school, so I don’t hear much about her ever.” Teacher's Assistant, Shelli Willcoxon, said. “I always make good decisions in school, but I will say having my mom in school keeps me on my absolute best behavior.” Senior, Emma Willcoxon, said.

“All of my teachers treat me the same even though they know my mom works here.” Freshmen, Jackson Seger, said. “My favorite part of having my son in school is seeing him unexpectedly throughout the day.” Math Teacher, Michelle Seger, said.

“I do not see any disadvantages to having my mom as the school nurse, only benefits." Sophomore, Hayden Bird, said. ”My kids will come by throughout the day sometimes just to say hi and relax.” Nurse, Sarah Bird, said. “Having my mom at the school is helpful when I forget something at home and when I am tired of class I can go to chill in her room.” Senior, Logan Bird, said.

“I like to keep home and school separate for my kids and I.” Athletic Director, Luke Ford, said. “Having my dad at the same school as me does not have any downsides, it is so nice to have him there.” Junior, Ella Ford, said.
