Wolves’ superstar Britt Prince was named the Nebraska Girls Basketball Gatorade Player of the Year on Wednesday, March 8. She follows Taylor McCabe, now at the University of Iowa, who won the award at Fremont last year.
Prince averaged 24.2 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 6.2 assists per game and was also the first junior in Nebraska girls basketball history to score 200 total points in state tournament games. On top of that, Prince is an ESPN top ten prospect for the Class of 2024.
With Prince leading the way this year, Elkhorn North amassed a 25-1 record and won its third state championship in a row, defeating Omaha Skutt Catholic 64-51.
This is the first Gatorade Player of the Year award in Elkhorn North athletics history.
