With her talent and dedication, junior Camryn Jacobsmeier is this week’s Wolf of the Week.
Jacobsmeier commits to playing her best in matches and during practice. Her upbeat and positive attitude during practice encourages her teammates on their good and bad days.
“Camryn’s loving attitude towards tennis makes her a good part of the team,” doubles partner and junior Haylee Wolf said. “She makes us want to be at practice and motivates us to get better.”
Jacobsmeier uses speed and power to earn points quickly during matches. In doubles, she focuses her power on getting the ball over the net.
Jacobsmeier and Wolf have a winning streak of 26 to 2, including winning the #1 doubles position at the Class B State Tournament in 2022.
Currently, Jacobsmeier and doubles partner Wolf are seeded first in #1 doubles after winning all matches on the first day of the 2023 Class B State Tournament. They compete again in the semi-finals on Friday, May 19 at 9:00 a.m.
“She always wants to get better and pushes really hard to win,” junior Haylee Wolf said. “Her best move is probably her serve or when she gets a ball at the net and puts it away on the first try.”
Jacobsmeier is a force to be reckoned with on the tennis team while exuding goodwill and a deep sense of care for her team.
“The amount of growth Cam has made has been really cool to see,” head tennis coach Lance Kush said. “It has been really rewarding to watch her grow and compete through the years. Cam loves tennis and I can not wait to see what she does in the future.”
