Lacy Mehaffey continually shows leadership as apart of band, pit orchestra, eagle scouts and a National Honors Society Secretary.
For three years, Lacy has participated in band as a drum major. She shows her strong passion for leadership by taking on the role of conducting and guiding the band. She is a strong role model for students not only in her section, but throughout the entire band.
“Lacy is great at seeing what needs to be done, taking on leadership responsibilities, and not doing just the easy stuff,” band director Matthew Rom said.
There’s no doubt she influences the underclassmen by how she takes on hard tasks and is observant of what others need. She shows humility and passion for leadership by teaching and putting others above herself.
“She has definitely passed on the motivational lessons and made an imprint on people around her to spread leadership to others by being in claw and being a drum major,” Rom said.
Mehaffey is definitely a person that a lot of people look up to and will remember because of the impacts she has made throughout the band and in her other activities.
“Lacy is kind, thoughtful, and willing to help,” Senior Selah Halweg said, “Her sense of humor is always helpful in cheering me up when I’m having a bad day.”
