On February 2, 2024 during the boys basketball game against York, sophomore Nike Orgilbold set a new record for most points scored during a game.

While Orgibold has only been a part of the basketball program for two years , he has continuously shown his talent on the court this season. Scoring 31 points, Orgibold helped lead the team to victory.

“He’s definitely a three level scorer,” head boys coach Andy King said. “He’s probably our best attacker to the rim.”

Through his immense growth in scoring came the need to work on defense and take on more responsibilities in order to prepare to become a leader for the team.

“His focus isn’t just to set career highs for himself or school records,” assistant coach Spencer Peterson said. “He finds other guys to score and makes decisions based on what’s best for the team, it’s never self centered.”

Orgilbold puts in effort to connect with his team and makes sure that the game isn’t all about himself. He puts the team’s goals above his own and makes sacrifices on the court for the better of the team.

“Obviously Nike’s known as a scorer but he’s also really good at seeing when help comes and finding shooters,” Peterson said.

These milestones are not achieved alone, Orgilbold brings the team closer together through his playing style.

“Nike is someone who I can talk to and laugh with,” sophomore Jase Reynolds said. “He helps me remember it’s just a game.”

With only three games left until subdistricts, there is still time for Orgibold to again show his skill on the court and set new highs with the possibility of beating his brothers’ school record.

“He’s been doing really well these past few games so I’m hoping he’s got another record in him,” King said.
