Themes of grief, love, and moving on all take place in “Regretting You”.
Directed by Josh Boone, “Regretting You” was released into theaters on October 20, 2025. The movie stars Makenna Grace as Clara, and Mason Thames as Miller. It also features Clara’s mom Morgan Grant (Allison Williams) and her aunt’s boyfriend Jonah (Dave Franco).
The plot follows Clara and Miller’s relationship after her aunt and dad’s death. Clara’s mother Morgan begins to navigate her life after the death of her husband and when she finds out about her husband and sisters affair when she is with Jonah.
“Regretting You” is author Colleen Hoover’s second movie adaption, and is a rom-com that appeals to teenagers and young adults.. Her first being “It Ends With Us” which came out in 2024.
While this movie is currently popular among this age group, it is not significantly appealing to many adults. It is rated PG-13 because of some of the language used in the movie.
In the month that it has been out “Regretting You” currently has a two-star rating on Rotten Tomatoes. So far it has become the third-highest grossing movie of the year, and #1 in the US.
Overall “Regretting You” was enjoyable to watch because of its appealing characters and the constant movement of the plot. I would give “Regretting You” 3.5 stars out of 5.
