The Wolves E-Sports just finished up one of the best E-sports seasons our school has ever seen. Seniors Cole Hanigan, Sheldon Manion, and Andrew Nietfeldt didn’t just win, but they dominated every match leading up to the state championship. Across the regular season games they only allowed 8 goals and won every game by huge margins.
Their momentum was carried to the state championship where they faced Lincoln Southwest in a best of five series. These seniors came confident and locked in, winning the series and earning the first E-Sports state title in school history.
Cole Hanigan’s standout performance across the finals earned him the State Championship MVP, showing how unstoppable the team was this year.
“Me, Andrew and Sheldon have played Rocket League for several years so when it came to state it was like any other day for us,” said Senior Cole Hanigan.
For a program that is still growing, this win will help E-Sports become a more popular club and lead it to be an official sport. The Wolves proved they were a force in the state title and will now play in Sub State to see if they will play in Nationals later this year.
