On December 10th, 2025, Elkhorn North hosted the first annual Senior Showcase.
This event, put on by the Elkhorn North Student Council, was a charity fundraising event that hopes to become a long standing tradition of the school.
Student Council sponsor Cheyanne Zelei played a major role in the planning of the event.
“It was a lot of work and coordination, with us planning it for months,” Said Zelei. “We had to pitch our idea to Radicia, and our student council worked very hard to get the idea passed.”
Each contestant picked their own charity they would represent, with 100% of the proceeds going to the winners charity. The proceeds, brought in by a five dollar entry fee, was in total a little over 600 dollars.
The competitors included Hayden Bird, Ryan Froelich, Logan Whaley, Parker Christofells, Asher Christo, Garrett Ringenberg, Barry Fries, Nate Trofholz, Sam Hunsberger, and Chris Lozier.
These ten seniors would face off in an interview, mini games, costume walk, and talent showcase to see who would become the Alpha of the Pack.
For the interview section, each contestant was asked two random questions to help the crowd and judges get to know them.Their third and final question was what charity they were representing and why they chose said charity.
The mini games portion was next, and the ten students were split into two teams.
Team One: Christo, Lozier, Christofells, Hunsberger, Bird
Team Two: Ringenberg, Fries, Trofholz, Whaley, Froelich
The first mini game was human pyramid, followed by marshmallow shake-out, and finally a cookie forehead relay. Each time a team won a game, so each contestant received one point towards future judging.
Following the mini games, the contestants showed off their costume. Highlighted by sharks, burgers, and Napoleon Dynamite, the contestants showcased their unique fashion decisions.
The final opportunity for the competitors to stand out was the talent portion. Talents included singing, hula hooping, dancing, rubix cube solving, and even a staged fight.
After the talent show portion, there was a ten minute intermission for the judges to make their final critiques, discuss, and decide on who would become Alpha of the Pack.
After ten excruciating minutes, contestants were brought back out onto the stage for the judges decision.
Chris Lozier took home third place with his sleek, church worthy outfit, his rubix cubes solving abilities, as well as the most crowd engagement.
Asher Christo secured second place with his festive light up sweater, graceful ribbon dance, and immaculate toe touch.
In first place, with his Napoleon Dynamite costume and electric dance performance, Sam Hunsberger was crowned the first ever Alpha of the Pack.
Hunsberger’s charity was Project Pink, a non profit dedicated to supporting breast cancer survivors with financial aid, resources, and wellness programs
“I put in a good bit of work to perfect my routine, but it was definitely worth it to see all the money we were able to raise for Project Pink.” said Hunsberger.
