Every fall, the ENHS theater team rehearses a 30-minute One-Act play to compete against other schools. The 2025 play is “Greek Mythology Olympia Ganza.” The cast has spent several weeks to perfect every detail in their show. Throughout the hard work, students must step up to leadership roles, and that is exactly what junior Zen Wesselmann has done.
Wesselmann plays Zeus, Jason Argonauts, and one of the twins from Castor and Pollux, but he also guides the team through rough times. He keeps a positive attitude, even when competitions can be hard.
“He [Wesselmann] is a good role model and brings a positive mindset throughout it all,” sophomore Tayleigh Barnes, who plays Athena and Lonely Single Woman, said.
Wesselmann is a talented actor and castmate. He helps others when they forget their lines, and fills any gaps to make it unnoticeable
The One-Act team rehearses every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday for an hour after school, and every time Wesselmann brings the right energy.
“He [Wesselmann] has great energy, and his comedic timing is impeccable,” director and English teacher Kelly Smith said. “He also knows how to work the audience to feed off of his energy.”
Wesselmann has set a standard that he continues to exceed, and his performances set him apart.
“This kid [Wesselmann] has the potential to help us be state champions,” Smith said.
