The boys bowling team started their season with a successful first week of competition, building momentum after a duel with last year’s state champions, Lincoln Pius X. Even though it was still early in the season, the Wolves managed to come out on top, setting a strong tone for the weeks ahead. When looking at the team’s overall performance, a stand out player is sophomore Isaac Meissner.
“This is Isaac’s first year on the team, but he is already leading in many different areas,” boys bowling coach Annie Chadwick said.
Despite being new to the school’s program for the season, Meissner is not inexperienced. He has been bowling for years, and his background has helped him adjust to the competitive atmosphere while also making waves with his skill.
Meissner currently holds the highest average on the team at 215 and has already earned three individual wins. His strongest performance came last Friday when he bowled an impressive 258 against Quest Forward High School.
Not only is Meissner an asset to the team through his skills, he has made a difference in the team in less obvious ways.
“He has a lot of talent, and he is overall a good person to have as a teammate,” sophomore bowler Grant Metschke said.
As the season continues, Meissner’s consistency has benefited the team and helped them raise their confidence for the possibilities throughout this season.
With his strong start, Meissner has set a tone that pushes the Wolves to keep improving. Whether he is leading the team to a group win or earning an individual victory, his consistency is sure to make an impact on the Wolves for the duration of their season.
