On February 7, the Elkhorn North varsity show choir, adrENaline, competed at Elkhorn High School’s Red Carpet Classic, where the team was crowned grand champions and junior Will Swagler received an Outstanding Performer Award.
Consistently, adrENaline makes finals at different competitions each weekend. Along with earning group awards, sometimes members of the group are recognized for their individual intensity, fluidity, and expressiveness.
This would not be the first time Swagler has received an Outstanding Performer Award. During the 2023-24 season, Swagler received the award at Gretna Primetime, when Gretna High School hosted its annual show choir competition.
“Will dedicates so many hours to what we do, even [when] I’m not around,” head show choir director Casey Allen said.
Swagler is a leader both on and off the stage, exemplifying kindness, dedication, and perseverance as a dance captain. Dance captains lead choreography, cleaning days, and are chosen because they are more proficient at learning and executing choreography than their peers.
“He’s a very capable and talented dancer,” Allen said. “He just works well with all people, and I can see that he recognizes everyone’s individual strengths that they bring to the group.”

Will is such an amazing performer, and I’m glad to see him get his flowers!
